105-7 Norfolk StreetNote during the 1900s, 1a Gwydir St was the Post Office across the road. At some point in the 2000s that was renamed 2a and 1a was given to half of the old Prince of Wales pub.

CIP reported that Mr Scales had applied for a license for George Dant for a new indoor beerhouse at the corner of Norfolk Street and Gwydir Street. Two houses had been converted into one and Dant was about to occupy one of them. Rent was to be £12. However, as the rent was under £15 the license was refused.

Planning permission to turn 105 Norfolk Street into three dwellings was rejected but a second proposal to split it back into two was accepted and so 1a Gwydir Street was created.
The ghost signs have been preserved as is.
